My friend's dog ate his pot?

He said when he came home there was dog vomit on the couch and there were seeds and stems in it. Will the dog die? He doesn't have internet so he asked me to ask on here if the dog will be okay. It's a small chuahaha.

first off, your friend is stupid for having/doing pot. (-snaps- for you!) also, i would take the dog to the vet. you don't know what pot can do to a dog, especially if it was a large amount.

he might feel like he has an upset stomach.  make him plain rice with plain cut up chicken or hamburger meat in it for a few days.  if he's acting strange or you feel unsure about anything, take him to the vet.

Well yeah he'll be ok. I'm sure your friend smoked more pot than the dog ate. And plus he puked some of it out. Dogs can eat anything, i'm sure he wont die.

There have never been any cases of a dog death from eating pot. The amount of THC that you would have to ingest to OD on it would be impossible to eat...honestly your stomach would rupture first.

Now the dog CAN vomit and choke on that. So keep a close eye the dog. And do tell your friend to keep his marijuana away from his dogs. Poor things don't know what they're getting into.

GET THIS DOG TO THE VET!!!!!

The substance in pot that makes humans high will also harm dogs, and it takes very little of anything to do in a chihuahua - they're TINY! Although most dogs can withstand this kind of accident, Chihuahuas are fragile.

Take this dog to emergency vet right away, or it could die - really.

And it may be that this dog needs a more responsible home, is this is the sort of thing that happens.  It won't only be pot the guys leave around if he's smoking weed, and there are plenty of things that Chi's can die of eating.

  Please get the dog to help right away, and contact Chi Rescue if it needs a new home - if you can't find them, let me know, and I'll help you... some people just aren't really ready for a dog, and this dog will eventually get into something that kills him, if he hasn't already.

Next time, hide the stash.Pup should be okay, but keep an eye on the dog for a day or so.

I'd take it to a vet to be sure.  If it threw up it's probably OK though.

Better have a big supply of s****. Snacks just in case.

Not to worry.  I have a good friend whose mother is a vet.  I've asked her about this before and she said it doesn't hurt them as long as it was a relatively small amount (less than 1/8 for a dog of that size).  It is like pot with anyone else; some people or dogs will like it while others won’t.  I have a 6 lb yorkie who got into my roommate’s pot one time and ate about a 1/8.  She got all wobbly and eventually just took a nap (this was when I called my friend's mom).  My yorkie seemed to be enjoying herself even though I was a bit nervous.  Ever since she sniffs it out and tries to get into it so I give her a stem every now and then to satisfy her craving.
