my best friend went out with this guy 2 years ago and now they're great friends, but they still have those little fights as it they were dating. he just told her that this parents aren't sleeping together anymore and his sisters are having trouble dealing (he said that his one sister, who's 6 years older than him, collapsed in his lap and couldn't stop crying). we are both really good friends with him and we are trying to help him the best that we can but we don't know what we can do. his brother is leaving for college next week and his 2 sisters don't live at home anymore so he'll be home, with no one.

what can we do to help?!

  1. Lots of people dont sleep in the same bed due to snoring or different schedules. There is not much you can do except listen. Trying to 'feed' the problem by discussing often makes it worse so maybe divert his attention by activities.

  2. Maybe they need to talk to their parents about it. It could be NOTHING. Some couples just aren't compatible "bed buddies" due to snoring or teeth-grinding, kicking, hogging the bed, snatching the blanket, etc. It could be something as innocent as that. If it's more well hopefully the parents will feel comfortable discussing it with them if the kids are old enough.

  3. they shouldn't even care, does it matter, both of my parents cheat on each other me and my sisters don't really care

  4. well, my mom has refused to sleep in the same bed since i cant remember when, and i was too little at the time to understand the significance at the time, but now im just used to it (im 13, and my mom told me that shes probably gonna divource him after i go to college). just keep supporting them, and tell them that this is their parents issue, and it is not in any way their fault. their parents will work it out themselves. it's not the kids job to worry about the parents, its the other way around. my best wishes to them!
