My friend's father went to market in one evening, not returned home until night. Feared family members gone on search found him near the railway trak unconciously. He has to cross the trak to the market. he is having some hearing problem. A man came running and said that the lying man tried to cross the line whereas the train moved fast and he was not hit by the train. how he failed to notice atleast whistle sound for which they say he is having some hearing problem. ok.. The man was not hit by the train. no injury in his body. Then how is it possible to fell unconcious? i asked my friend how could it be for which he says ''when train passes fast and anyone stands nearby will fall and more possibilities are there even to pull them, since fast moving trains will grab the air'' is it true that standing nearby the trak while fast moving trains passes.? answer.

  1. Yes, it is perfectly possible for a first moving train to affect anyone standing too near the tracks, by the action of the displaced/moved by the train. For this reason, stations in the UK through which high speed trains pass (travelling up to 125mph) have the platforms marked with a yellow line behind which waiting passengers are advised to stand. See this picture of Hassocks Station (near to where I live) which clearly shows the yellow line well back from the platform edge;_ http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im...

They even have safety lines marked on London Underground stations:- http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im...

even though trains travel at little more than 50mph

  2. This very scenario was put to the test on Discovery Channel's, Myth Busters. They used a manikin standing close to trains at various speeds, to attempt to get the winds to pull the manikin in, or around, or behind, or something. But nothing ever happened. There just isn't enough wind or turbulence. They (I emphasize.....they) could not get anything to happen. Anyway, sorry to hear about your friends father. Maybe more details will come up to help explain what could have happened.
