Question:

My friend's house may be haunted or harbouring negative energy?

I had one of those really heavy conversation nights talking about religion and the like. I got back to my friends place and we were talking about all this stuff when the hallway light started shooting out lightning about 2 or 3 times a minute, all night. (She has had the wiring checked recently and it was fine) Her mother passed away almost a year ago and we always say it is her flickering the lights (they flicker everyday, when they are switched off) but this lightning thing was really scary. Also at least 6 people have fainted in her kitchen, including her mother before she died, and myself included also around a year ago. I was not on anything, just got up in the middle of the night and starting making a cuppa, got dizzy, fainted and hit the wall and broke my nose! The lightning night, monday night, I got up in the middle of the night and was in the kitchen again, felt someone watching me, turned to look and saw a glimpse of a person quickly pull away. WHAT TO DO????????????

  1. Call Zelda Rubenstein!! JK, Seriously, I'm not sure how you can cleanse the house of negative energy. Perhaps the show Ghostchasers has a website that can clue you in on what could be done. It is very possible, with my limited understanding of the paranormal, that the woman who died there 17 years earlier is causing the rift in the ethereal plane. Sometimes when people die their passing is so abrupt they don't realize they have died. I know this sounds absurd but this is just one of the many profound theories that "explain" paranormal activity. Thoughts of loved ones can sometimes "trigger" paranormal activity too. You must also report this to an accredited institution that deals in paranormal studies. Good luck and above all don't be frightened!!!

  2. get the kitchen checked for gas and get a paranormal investigator to check the house

  3. Sheesh lady.  There are some really dangerous things going on in your friend's house.  First thing to do is replace that light.  Then check the kitchen for carbon monoxide fumes.  That sounds like a really unsafe place to be.

P.S. "Negative energy" is just verbal short hand for a bad mood or an eerie feeling.  There is no such thing as lingering negative energy.

  4. Ghosts are not real - I don't care what they say on TV.

Get the light replaced immediately -- it's a fire hazard.

Sorry about your nose.  People faint all the time, however.  My daughters have passed out while eating, standing and even while watching TV.  It's a normal body reaction to a lack of oxygen to the brain.

Peripheral vision is funny - I see insects scurry across my rug because I hate it when insects scurry across my rug.

Except for the light - it's all normal.  Replace the light.

  5. don't listen to the people that try to play it off like it's nothing. they haven't experienced anything like this before. all you can do is accept the fact. atleast it's not your house.

  6. Fainting can ba a sign of carbon monoxide poisoning, or a gas leak, get the area checked. Have the power box checked by a reputable electrician, have the friend change the bulbs, switch, wiring and fuse or circuit breaker for the the hallway (old house?). You can also see things when poisoned by carbon monoxide - is the boiler or furnace under the kitchen (scary thought)  - in any case have the house checked

  7. There may indeed be a negative presence in that house but there is no way to be sure of that.Just protect yourselves, have the house blessed by a priest and put bibles in every room.

There could be a natural explanation as to why so many people have fainted in the kitchen. You should have somebody check for high Electromagnetic Fields (or EMF) in the kitchen.High EMF has been known to make people faint, other side effects include dizziness and the feeling that you're being watched. There are so many possible explanations, but just stay on the safe side and have the house blessed anyway and put bibles in all the rooms.

  8. Call the fire dept and have the kitchen checked with their carbon monoxide meter.

Get a licensed electrician to check the wiring and replace the fixture.

If you think a spirit is in the house you can either get holy water or just a cross and walk thru the house telling the spirits to be nice and leave you alone.  You might also want to contact Montel Williams and go on his show when he has the woman that is connected to spirits.

       Good luck!!!   ;)

  9. Whatever.

  10. First, although the guy who checked the wiring told you it was fine, it isnt now. Something happened, or something got overlooked, because the lightning stuff is dangerous, and it isnt paranormal. Please get it checked before someone gets hurt.

Second, you might want to check the kitchen area for carbon monoxide, as this might be the cause of the fainting. Again, this could become a dangerous situation, so check it out.

Doesnt sound like anything paranormal at all going on, sorry to eliminate this option.

  11. Run.. run.. as fast as you can!! you can't catch me i'm a ginger bread man!! (that's  all you could do!)

  12. I DEFINITELY think you need to have the wiring checked and if you use gas...this is really really serious! There must be SOME reason so many people are fainting in the kitchen..or ANYWHERE in your house. After you've had those things check...THEN you can look for paranormal reasons. SAFETY FIRST!!!

  13. If you seriously think it's a paranormal problem try TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) or another group like that. They usually will be able to determine whether it's an electrical problem or a paranormal problem.

  14. Get the wiring rechecked.  You should not have sparks flying from your bulbs - that's a really dangerous thing to leave happening.

You say the lights flicker when they are off - you mean, they come back on?  Yeah.  Whoever checked her wiring was an idiot.  Hire someone who knows what they are doing next time.

Lots of people fainting in the kitchen?  Have you checked for a gas leak?  You could all be getting seriously ill from that.  Really, have it checked out.

Look, all of these are things you might expect in an old or poorly-maintained house.  Don't you think that's a much more likely explanation than ghosts?

  15. 1: I'm willing to bet $50 that whoever checked your wiring was an idiot, it doesn't take a genius to know that problem is almost assuredly from a bad socket and not wiring.

2: Now, the human brain is very powerful, and you sound like you have quite the imagination. You also seem to have some great connotations about the kitchen. Tell me how many people die every year from being attacked by ghosts... not many eh? So even if they are real, and one was watching you, you probably don't have to worry that much. You also might want to check for a gas leak.
