My friend CLOGGED MY TOILET & rushed out my house - should I let it go??

The title explains it all LOL.

I heard her in the bathroom flushing the toilet 3 or 4 times & then I heard it overflowing, then she burst out & made a bee-line for the front door, rambling about how she got a phone call from her mom saying her cat ate a chocolate bar --- I think her buIIshit story smelled worse than what was waiting for me in the bathroom LOL. But you should've seen the girl run - rofl -

Sooo, I made the daunting trek to the loo, and saw the poo. (HoIy sh.t, "cow patties" don't BEGIN to describe it!)

Thank the holy jesus that my boyfriend dropped by unexpectedly 5 min after she left & volunteered to un-clog the toilet (he saw my friend drive off, THANK GOD or he would've thought *I* was the one who "dropped the kids off at the pool" - at least I'm *hoping* that what I told him & what he saw will make him believe me!)

I think she really should have been honest w/ me. Don't get me wrong, I feel for the girl, she must be freaking **embarrassed**, but I'm wondering if I should tell her that it was kind of messed up to leave me (& my bf) with that mess.

Or should I just let it go, b/c her embarassment would be punishment enough?

  1. Charge her for the repairs.

  2. If you have to mention it at all, do it in such a way that won't embarrass her. We've all clogged up a toilet or two in our day. Just don't make her feel like she's the only one that's ever done that. People get embarrassed about natural bodily functions way too much. It happens. The mess got cleaned up, no one was hurt (though, sounds like the toilet took a little beating).

  3. well i suggest u tell her thts not acting like a good frend becuz shes afraid to admit something she did.

  4. Oh, dear. I have to admit the story made me giggle. I think you should NOT mention it to your poor friend. Obviously she was upset and embarrassed.

  5. Not the maturest way. but this can happen. Toilets clog up really fast sometimes and I guess she flushed again too soon and the water level wasn't down to normal.. She just acted like Peter Sellers in the comedy ''The party'' when he totally messed up the bathroom with the toilet roll and the toilet was overflowing as well. I am sure she was very embarrassed and instead she should have apologized to you and said a ''little accident' happened and help clean it up.. but you should mention it to her..  and eventually forgive her. She is not very mature and probably very panicky in a small crisis.. she will learn eventually.. xx

  6. You are correct on all counts.  She should have been honest with you, told you what happened and asked if you had a plunger so SHE could unclog it.  I'm certain she WAS freaking embarrassed, but she still has the responsibility to clean up, especially if it flowed over onto the floor.  She should have known that the "problem" wasn't going to just solve itself, and you would eventually discover her "gift."  Her face will probably still be beet red the next time you see her (if she ever has the courage to contact you again).  It was surely unpleasant at the time, but it wasn't intentional on her part, and you seem to be able to laugh about it in "hind" sight (sorry, I couldn't resist), so it's best to let it go now (though you could mention that if she ever has an issue in there in the future, to please inform you).

  7. No. Dont let it go. Next time she shows up.....c**p in her car and say nothing

  8. I wouldn't bring it up.  It was a mess for you to clean up, and I understand that, but think about her feelings here for a minute.  She was probably so embarrassed and mortified, she didn't know how to face you and tell you, that she just ran.  Not that she wanted to, but just to embarrassed to deal with anyone and felt like she just had to leave.  I know you're close friends and all, but something like that, it's pretty personal and  it sounds like she was mortified.

I don't think she wanted to leave you with the mess, she just didn't know how to handle it otherwise.  I would just let it go.  Put yourself in her shoes and how she must have been feeling and let it go for her.  Do it for your friend.  Like you said, you two are close and be understanding.

Think of it this way, which is more embarrassing, doing what she did or cleaning it, being on either end of it sucks, but being the one that did really sucks and having someone that overlooks it and lets it go, that's a true friend.  She will be grateful for it.  Just like you didn't want your boyfriend to think it was you, let her go on this one.

  9. That's embarassing. Just drop it.

  10. You dont say how old she is so its hard to say but Im guessing maybe she was terrified if she used a plunger she might cause more damage.Thats wrong  thinking but you can only imagine my surprise when I got married and my husband had no idea how to use a plunger. He would say the toilet messed up and I would say so you use a plunger and he said I dont know how! I have been plunging and taking apart toilets since I was probly 12 years old.Her was a 26 year old man who has never plunged a toilet..She has been punished I would just drop it.I think she simply freaked out.

  11. Well, that was not very nice. If she is your friend then I think you can confront her about it.  If she was a friend then she should have told you about the problem, and asked for the plunger.  Being friends though, You can just laugh about the situation, it happens to everyone.

  12. Well, above and beyond it wasn't the worst thing that could happen..but still that is really freakin gross!

I don't know how people can go to strangers/friends houses and drop stink bombs like that...ugh!  I don't feel comfortable doing it.

Next time you see her, make sure to ask her about the "Cat" that ate the "chocolate" bar...

Then when you're hanging out..when she has to use the restroom..shout after her

"MAKE SURE YOU DON'T OPEN THE FLOOD GATES"

    or something like that...

actually if you want to be nice...

call her and let her know that you know what she did..and next time just make sure she tells you about it before she flees...and NEVER let her in your bathroom again

  13. haha lol thats funny. ya just let it go they were probably embarassed enough.
