I posted a question yesterday asking if my fish was going to die because it ate sooo much food and on the food bottle it says to only feed it 3-4 pellets twice a day and to NOT overfeed it. I got some answers that said to wait a day or so and if it's constipated feed it a mashed pea? How the heck do I do that?

  1. Don't stop feeding it. Fish know when to stop eating and if your fish doesn't eat, it means it's full. Don't do the pea thing because fish don't get constipated and maybe you should consider feeding it flakes. Flakes are easier for a fish to digest. For mine they are anyway.

  2. If your friend overfed your fish that probably means you have a high level of ammonia in your tank. Left over food doesn't necessarily mean that the fish keep eating, it can mean that the food is left to rot at the bottom, turning into harmful ammonia as it degrades. I'd do an immediate water change. If you notice your fish are bloated, then that is constipation. In that case, a pea would work. You can either cook a pea, peel it, mash it and then drop it in the tank for them to eat. Or use a frozen pea, defrost it, peel it, mash it then drop it in the tank.

It is also good to only feed your fish 6 days a week, leaving the same day each week food-free so your fishs' stomachs can regulate.

  3. stop feeding your fish for a few days.

  4. dont do the pea thing fish dont get constipated if it was over fed just do a water change the fish will b allrite

  5. Just don't feed your fish for 2 days.

If you bake the pea it'll float I think, or u can cover a fish pellet with it.

  6. Just don't feed your fish for awhile.
