  1. WOW  Rome in a weekend!

i think about a day it would take!

i am going to rome for my 13th b-day ( no i am NOT rich i have been saving)

my choice for you is next time you pay like 3,000$ for a plane flight to Italy go for a week at least.

well to awnser the question it takes about a day from 10:00am- 5:00 pm

  2. If you go during the off season, you can see all of St. Peters in one day and that includes taking in a mass in the Cysteine Chapel (masses go on all day long because new priests get to say their first mass there)

Don't miss the BOOK STORE... it just off the left side of the plaza and the man that runs it is a fountainhead of information on the Vatican.

  3. Erica,

If you plan to see the whole of the Vatican, then you will probably need the entire weekend.  And even then, you won't see it all; the Vatican is huge.

If you want a quick tour, you might be able to arrange a guided visit through your hotel.  That way you can be assured that you'll see the important parts, e.g,, the Sistine Chapel, Raphael Chambers, etc.

  4. Just to see St. Peter's could take an hour or two. Last time I was in Rome (in 2007) you had to wait in a security line to get into St. Peter's. There is no telling how long that could take. The museum would take hours to see- and again, unless you buy tickets beforehand you will stand in line to get in.

I'd head to the Piazza San Pietro and see how long the line to get into the Vatican is. If it isn't too bad or is moving quickly then by all means, see St. Peter's. It is amazing. I'd save the museum for when you have time to explore as much as possible.

  5. depends on how long the line is and how hot it is standing in the line. don't forget to dress appropriately
