My friend and I are travelling to Aus in April and would like to sand surf. Anywhere to do this in Melbourne?

We will not have time to do this in Sydney and we were hoping that Melbourne has the same sport available.

I'd say somewhere down the Great Ocean Road - so Tourquay, Lorne, Angelsea

April the water will be cooling & you will probably need a Wet suit if you want to go surfing. Depending on what temps you are used to.

If you hare Hiring a car you will need to drive about an Hour to get to a Surf Beach. Either to the South West & down what is called the surf Coast ( Torquay Bells Beach etc)

Or to the South East ( not sure of the beaches down that way).

If you are not hiring a car then its a train to Geelong & a buss down the coast from there down to the Surf coast.
