My friend and I are wanting to get a hamster but we are under the age of 16 are we aloud to buy one w no?

My friend and I want to get a hamster,But both of are parents will not allow us to get one.And we are both under the age of 16. Can my friend and I buy a hamster fromPetsmart without an adult? We are buying a big cage,food dish, water dish,toys healthy food,treats,litter/bedding.So we have alll the needs of a happy hammy!And how do you train hamsters to go poddy in a certain area?I have an allowence so that covers anything like food vet etc...and im not really going to hide it i have a lock on my door and they also never come in my room! Thanks for the help to! :)Yes I have enough money set aside for vet and stuff like that and they wont make me get rid of the hamster there not like that they will just be ticked off at me they love animals but we have two dogsso they dont want anymore :( eventhough I really want a hammy!

its not a good idea to go behind your parents back, i did the same thing.

i went in a bought a hampster without my parents, so yeah you can. but make sure you have alot of money.

I'm pretty sure you can't buy one. It may depend if you look to young or not whether they check for I.D. though.

Hamsters are great pets, hamsters were our 2 daughters first pets.  BUT  they had our blessing.  You can't hide a hamster.  They smell after a while and you can hear them running in their exercise wheel at night.

I would suggest you really sit down with your parents and explain why you want one and how you plan to take care of it.

Our daughters were a lot younger than you and came down with a plan, including paying for everything to take care of them.

We have had many hamsters through the years.
