  1. I think that yellow caterpillars will turn to moths (hawkmoths?)

    It will turn into a moth (maybe butterfly)...

    Btw, I think you shouldn't add sugar to the water, since caterpillars in the wild never have anything to do with sugar in water.

  2. It might turn into a butterfly. Or it might also turn into a moth; there's no way to know without knowing what particular species the caterpillar belongs to.

    As long as you keep it fed, it'll turn into something; that's for sure.

    I don't think there's any different between a male and female caterpillar, but there is between the male and female butterfly/moth.
