  1. Ya, "la rouge" means "the red" but it can mean "the communist" (the color red associated with communism, the red scare and all). It is also a popular name for bars and such in Canada (Toronto) and maybe in France.

  2. Do you wear a lot of makeup? Rouge is a type of makeup. But if you're French, why are you writing la' with an apostrophe? It's "la". I suppose you don't speak French -- then how can you be French? I don't get your question.

  3. La Rogue is literally "The Red".  Like others have said, it could mean because of your views politically, but I don't think so to be honest.  Most likely it's because you might have red hair.  Your avater has red/brownish hair, so if you're a redhead, I think that's why.

  4. 1)You are called "la Rouge"most probably because your views - on certain subjects - are very close to the ones a communist would hold. That's how French people call communists without using the proper noun "communist".

    "la Rouge" is not meant to be a denigrating  appellation but it conveys exactly how they perceive your attitude.

    La Rouge = the Red One

    2)

    la =  feminine singular article = the

    rouge = the colour red

    3) Are you a redhead --> someone with red hair ?

    That may also be a reason to be called "la Rouge" although the normal way to say this would be "la rousse"and not "la rouge".

    Hope this helps.
