Question:

My friend chews tobacco, should I be concerned?

I found out that my friend, Tyler, has been chewing tobacco for almost a year. He's 18 now, but he started when he was 17. I also know he does drink and occasionally gets baked. I don't know how often he chews, but I'm concerned. I really care about him. He knows I'm bi and doesn't have a problem with it, but I didn't tell him that I like him. ANYWAYS, I don't know if I should talk with him about the chewing, drinking, and/or the smoking. Any help?

  1. i think it would be fine if you conveyed to him your fears of him getting into an unhealthy situation.  just tell him your friendship is important to you.  in the mean time, don't let him drive after drinking.  he'll probably keep doing what he wants to.  but maybe in time, when he grows up a little, he'll take on a little more responsibility and ease off.  and his true friend, you, will still be there for him.  thanks for being a good guy.  more kids should have friends like you.  =]
