My friend cousin just came here from China & doesn't know english....?

Okay So he just came here from China && my friend is teaching him english, & he acts like he know it all.

Shes teaching him words from & making him read from this paper.

What is the best way to start teaching him?

Teach him the alphabet or what

Also, what worksheets can I make for my friends cousins?

English worksheets but like what!

The first thing I'd do would be to help him with everyday words and situations so he can find his way around. I'd teach him words and expressions to travel, go to the store, use the library, use facilities like public bathrooms, etc. These will be most useful and will also offer your friend opportunity to expand vocabulary and learn other related words. I'd also start him on the alphabet so that he can, at least, read signs. I'd also add health words and words he might need in an emergency.

Chinese is very different from English and English is often very difficult for Chinese students to learn. Even students who have studied English for many years still have certain grammar problems, as I'm sure you are aware. But starting him off on words and expressions he can use daily are the best idea.

I would also look into community college, library, and other local classes for beginners. Your friend may speak English, but your friend is not a teacher. It would be helpful if his cousin received proper instruction from someone else who has been trained. Also, your friend and his cousin may not be able to study together and there may be tension between them. It would be better if he learned from a trained teacher in a classroom situation.
