  1. He probably means pie and mash from a pie and mash shop - they often come with licquor which is a sort of green gravy.  It's a traditional English thing but there aren't many of them left now, you're best bet would be somewhere in London if you're looking for one.

  2. maybe its fishermans pie that has mashed potato on top has for green gravy has he put a green sauce with the gravy.

  3. its called pie and mash.and you can get it in menzes in tower bridge road se1[london]

  4. I think he is on about Pie and mash, the 'green gravy' is called liquer in London and is actually mushy peas. You can buy mushy peas in the supermarket, canned or frozen.

  5. I'm afraid I've no idea what he's taling about...Green gravy???

    Mushy peas maybe.....???

  6. your friend fernando should stick to eating fajitas.

  7. Following from fredpen's answer there are still pie, mash and liquor shops in London. There is one in Greenwich, SE10, near the Cutty Sark. I think it's called 'Menzies' or 'Manzes'? They also serve jellied eels with mash.

The liquor is much runnier than mushy peas although just as disgusting... definitely an acquired taste!

  8. u mean shepherd's pie?

the recipe is all over internet dear...

  9. sond smore like an Australian floater pie

  10. This definitely sounds like a meat pie floater, which is a South Australian idea.

You take a meat pie, put it in a bowl, cover it with mashed potato, cover that with mushy peas, then smother the entire mess with gravy.

I tasted one last time I was in Adelaide. It was horrible; no, absolutely unpalatable, so I'm sure the English would love them.

  11. Sheppard pie. right and the green sauce that would be a peppercorn sauce a mild one. the chippys in england put them on chips, or french frys in america. so to make this would would do the following, rough instructions to serve 4, 4 large potatoes boiled then mashed with a bit of butter and milk, salt pepper to taste, pound of mince meat browned fat drained add carrots peas onion lots of garlic and fresh or dried hearbs what ever it is you fancy then put a bit of the peppercorn sauce into the mince meat mix then put into pan about a medium size casserole dish  will do butt mashed potatoes on top of meat mix bake in oven for about 20 min serve with pepercorn sauce

  12. HUH?!

  13. Your friend Fernando him say right. I live miles and miles from London and from Blackpool but I should say to your friend Fernando. Visit Blackpool. There are any number of cafes, restaurants, hotels and boarding houses that will provide the very dish he nearly describes.

Don't believe all that rubbish about mushy peas being disgusting. Try them with a good plateful of fish and chips. Yum. Yum.

  14. We like pie and mash but I've never heard of green gravy. How about mushy peas? they're green. Mushed up like slurry. Bloody disgusting, smell like farts but some people like them.
