Question:

My friend found a kitten

Ok my friend found a kitten in the road that looks pitiful, it is so bony and so tiny. I took it home and have been taking care of it but the problem is that my landlord does not want any pets in the building. I have had a dog before and he forced me to get rid of it, and my boyfriend is afraid that if he finds out I am taking care of the poor kitten that he will kick us out... Any ideas on how to inform him I have the kitten without making him mad? And btw, our downstairs neighbors have 2 cats that he does not know about, I have tried informing him in the past that they belong to the neighbors but he does not believe me, he thinks they are stray cats that just magically end up in the garage at night.

My mom says I should just keep the kitten and not tell him, and i agree, but my boyfriend is scared of getting evicted over a pet, and is wanting me to call him tomorrow to inform him that I have it, and since he won't quit bugging me about it I kind of have to. Any ideas of what to say to talk him into allowing the poor thing stay here?

  1. Ask him if it is alright to nurse it back to health for a couple of months and then give it to a cat adoption centre. Because there are so many cats there, the kitten wouldn't get the all of the attention needed (although it would get a lot, don't get me wrong) to properly make sure it recovered. Tell him that. Also, as you will only have it for as long as it needs to make sure it is healthy, it won't be energetic enough to break anything etc. Btw, if you manage to keep the kitten for however long, buy some kitten milk. It has all the nutrients for healthy growth and it is good to give them something, even if they are eating solids. Also, post-op food, (available at a vets), is good to fatten them up a bit. I now all this because one of my kittens became very sick, weak and skinny recently, and these are all the things we have been doing to build her back up to her original health while she is being treated for her illness. I can say with absolute certainty that these things have been helping, even if only a little, as she is definitely beginning to show more meat and less bones even in a few weeks, (even if we did have to syringe feed her the kitten milk, which she did NOT like at all lol). Hope this helps, and good luck with keeping the kitten!

  2. face to face is good....tell him thiss"Ok sir/mama...ihave this bony scrawny thing you see...that could die if i dont help it....i would help you if you were scrawny..and i know you would want help to..i have a kitten thats not old enough to fend for itself and nearly dead please let me keep it and nurish t" just be really sweet and stuff maybe h**l understand break it to him slowly...

  3. Offer to pay a pet deposit.  Don't try to hide the kitten.  It will be found out about and you'll have to find it a new home or turn it in to a shelter. The high road is the best way to go.  Also, the kitten needs to see a vet ASAP for worming and shots.
