My buddy is in the Marines and he got busted for fruadulent enlistment. He had 2 seizures before he enlisted and lied about it to his recruiter and at MEPS. He was at a training exercise at 29 Palms and he got hazed by his seniors and eventually went UA. His father was contacted to find him and his father told the Marines about his seizures in an attempt to defend him. What are the possible consequences for this?

  1. He will be booted out and sent home.  The USMC may decide to go after him for some of the transportation and training expenses.  Not a smart move on his part.

  2. Probably nothing too serious, maybe just getting kicked out of the forces, and a fine or something. possibly a small amount of jail time. it really depends on the people/judge

  3. Depending on how long he was UA...I'd guess he'd get NJP'd or summary courts-martial while they were processing his administrative discharge for the fraudulent enlistment.

  4. He will be given a general discharge under honorable conditions for a pre-existing medical condition in accordance with BUMEDINST. 1910.2 Series. His re-enlistment code will be RE-4, preventing him from re-enlisting in the Marines or enlisting in any other branch. He may also face some fine or forfeiture of pay for his unauthorized absence.

  5. i think the highest consequences is him getting kicked out of the mariens

  6. I'm curious as to what kind of hazing are we talking about, mentally or physical, add details if you can, not really important and has nothing to do with your question but just curious.

  7. Fraudulent enlistment is a federal crime, But chances are he will simply be discharged.

  8. 10,000 dollars and 7 years are the max
