the marriage. My friend and his wife have been living separate since then. NO kids nothing between them. His wife has signed him and thumb printed on blank stamp papers and given consent for second marriage by doing this.

My friend is now in Canada. His marriage is not registered anywhere and nor anyone knows he was ever married. Now he wants to marry in Canada. Are there going to be hurdles in this? He cant take divorce since his family doesnt allow him for some reasons. But since his marriage life was as short as 10 days...cant he just marry in canada and register his marriage in canada? will there be problems in this...Pls reply

  1. I believe that that would be considered polygamy until he officially gets a divorce, though I live in the US so I can't tell you for sure.  I suggest you tell him to contact a lawyer about this, because it might cause serious legal problems if he's just relying on people's opinions on Yahoo Answers =)

  2. no clue-call an attorney--sorry

  3. If the marriage was not registered in India. Then there is no need for divorce or any legal process.

BUT... if yr friend was registered in india as married then you are REQUIRED to get a divorce. To do this get a lawyer and get him/her to send divorce papers to the wife india to sign....ONLY then u can remarry.
