My friend got my wep address on some site called "Netopia". He followed a few links and typed something in.

This worked and I could use it. i deleted it by mistake though, and am no longer in contact with my friend. Does anyone no what I have to do????

WEP is no longer considered Secure. Most administrators would set up Wireless to use WPA. It is the new standard.

Wireless security is a tradeoff with ease of use, as security is in all things.

I would secure your WiFi.

Log onto your router:

1. Select Not to Broadcast your SSID.

2. Select a complex SSID name.

3. Select WPA

4. Select MAC Filtering and put in the MAC address of the computers allowed to connect to your wifi.

5. Change the default password of you router config page to a complex password..

6. Change the default name of your router.

Now your friend can't find you.
