  1. An acquaintance  got refused.

  2. No one with a criminal record is allowed to immigrate into the US.  They are not eligible for non-immigration classes of visas such as tourists, student visas, work visas, cultural exchange visitors, etc. either.

  3. Tell him to hook up with a coyote in Mexico to bring him across, then he won't have to worry about it.

  4. Absolutely not

  5. God, I hope not.

  6. It depends on the type of crime. Also, it depends on the consulars decision at the US Embassy once your friend apply for the visa. Good luck!

  7. Depends what the conviction is for, why dont you ask the American embassy this question. Am sure they could help you.

  8. Yes, but not under the visa waiver program. I believe he has to attend an appointment at the US Embassy in order to get a visa.

  9. He will burn in h**l.

  10. Let him sneak in illegally through Mexico. After he is in the US for 3-4 days, either Barack Obama or Juan McCain will give him amnesty under the next version of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill.

  11. depends what for, but for minor stuff, as a tourist or on business, yes. The only checks they do are terrorism links or internal warrants etc.

To immigrate, maybe not but again depends what for.
