My friend has a direct tv dish but no reciever, can she use my reciever with my service card to get service?

  1. Some dishes do more than others, like look at 5 satellites at once for HD and Local channels. But there is nothing personal about the antenna, within the same company.  You can take your receiver to her antenna and get lots of stuff.  Within the same company of course.  I don't know about direct tv on a DISH  dish, they have different manufacturers.


  2. she certainly could get at least get the basic programming and even HD if you subscribe to it and she has the correct dish.

    BUT keep in mind that having service from one account active in two locations at the same time (i.e. having a receiver at your home and one at hers) is against FEDERAL LAW. It's called signal fraud and can get you a hefty fine and/or a lot of jail time. I highly advise against it.
