Ok my friend has a family member who repeatedly questions her about her conversations on aim and knows all the details, so it's fairly obvious to me that the family member has put an intrusive keystroke logger on my friends computer! I do not think it's the run-of-the-mill kind that you simply plug in between the keyboard wire and the computer itself, as I looked back there and didn't see anything! Does anyone know how to detect the program variety?!

  1. You should download and run Spybot Search & Destroy - it has keylogger definitions. Most anti-spyware programs should be able to pick it up - but I recommend Spybot as the weapon of choice against keyloggers.

Remember that you can only have one anti-virus, but you can have as many anti-spyware applications as you want. Other free anti-spyware programs would be Ad-aware, AVG Anti-spyware (formally Ewido), Super Anti-spyware and SpywareBlaster.

  2. Any good anti spy ware program should find and quarantine it I personally use webroot spy sweeper but I am sure any decent program would do it.
