My friend has a serious problem with her nursery?

Her child has been bitten in nursery twice over the last few weeks. She wants to SUE the nursery! Her child is one.

Completly supid if u ask me... children at 1 year old are teething, learning about what they can and cannot get away with in nursery, and are copying eachothers behaviour.

I have worked in daycare before and i know it's really hard work and the last thing we need is parents nit picking about things like this, we cannot be right beside the children every second of the day accidents do happen and it does not mean that staff are not doing there job right.

Now my friend has annoyed me going on and on about this sound i say something and what are everyones views on this?

Babies at this age bite, you can only try to teach the babies not to bite, but they aren't going to understand. It will be a waste of time and money to try to sue the daycare. This mom is way over protective and she should have a nanny or someone come into her home and babysit her baby so no other kids can interact with her daughter!

Let the dummy try and sue and she will waste time and her money on court fees.  She will lose.

I doubt she would be able to sue the day care however, those in charge should have advised your frien to take her child to the doctor because the human bite can be exremely dangerous.  The human mouth carries bacteria and this bacteria can result in a staff infection which is better known as the "Flesh eating" disease.  Complaining about a bite is NOT nitpicking it could mean major problems for the child bitten.  If you were responsible for children and did not report bites and adivsed parents to take their child to the doctor then I would call YOU an expremely poor day care attendant.  If the day care you worked in didn't advise the parents to seek medical attention then they should not have been licensed because that is a requirement for day care centers.  I too have worked in day care, I was an associate director.  When a child in our facility was bitten we made out a four copy report, one copy went into the child's file, one went into the "accident" file, one went to the parent's of the bitten child, and one went to the doctor.  If you find the chance at contracting the flesh eating disease as nitpicking I hope you're no longer in day care.

Yes you should say something. what your freind needs to understand is that those teachers are doing their job and that if she sues, shes just going to waste her money because unless the teacher is doing the biting no judge is going to order a toddler to pay. if she doesnt think they are doing their job she needs to tell the supervisor, make a plan of action, and work it out because some kids are biters it could happen anywhere. if she dosnt want to work it out then she should just find another nursury

be honest with her and tell her that her feelings are normal (kinda) but whenever someone goes after YOUR child you are livid and want to take matters into your own hands..tell her that all babies in daycare bite and they don't do it to be mean, its just what they do and the teachers do the best they can..I know in most day cares if the kid bites more than a certain amount of times and the parents don't do anything then the kid is kicked out.. Mine was bitten and he bite and we broke him of it and everything was a ok!

My daughter bit the babysitters baby twice in one month, she was one and a half. It is completely normal at that age. But maybe she should take her child out of child care and put her in a home where their are no other children, then she can be sure that her child wouldn't be hurt by another child!

There is no reson to sue, kids will be kids and maybe she

should sit down and talk to the other parents what they could do about there child biting her child.
