My friend has irregular periods, had s*x once since her last period and unprotected. when should she test?

She can't tell when she is ovulating because she has really irregular periods. She is not trying to get pregnant but she wants to know whats the earliest date she should think about trying a home pregnacy test.

It could take up to 7 days for implantation to even take place. Then you need to wait another 7-10 days for the pregnancy hormone to build up in your system before you take a test. So she needs to wait at least 14 days.Just to give you an idea. I took a pregnancy test 15 days after I had s*x and it came up negative. Then I took another one 17 days after I had s*x and it was positive. Now I am happily 24 weeks pregnant!

5 days before her missed period. Since she is irregular, wait a few extra days!

She needs to wait after she thinks her period should have came. If her periods are irregular dont test 5 days before, you could get a negative result.
