Question:

My friend has random nose bleeds, what could that mean?

One of my best friends has been having random nose bleeds without any trauma to his nose, and I'm really worried about him. I've told him he should see a doctor, but he's being a typical man and saying he's fine. So if anyone has an educated opinion on this or knows where I could go to find more info about it, please let me know. If this could be something serious, I want to let him know so maybe he'll go see a doctor.

  1. he probably just has weak blood vessels in his nose and when the air gets to dry or humid or something irratates his nose it can cause them to break there are treatments for that they can caldarize the blood vessels in his nose so they don't do that or they could get better over time, i don't think its a big deal just annoying and he could always see a doctor to make sure, good luck

  2. when my blood pressure gets to high this will happen to me sometimes

  3. Perhaps he is deficient in vitamin K that you need for clotting your blood.  There is plenty of vitamin K in broccoli, spinach and other green vegetables or a vitamin K supplement every day might perhaps help.

You can find further information in a web search for "vitamin k" + "nose bleeding".

  4. could be a blood pressure issue, which is pretty serious.

or if he has terrible allergies or an infection of some kind.

Alcohol and especially cocaine abuse cause nose bleeds.

Cocaine will cause weird nose bleeds for days after you've used.

  5. It could be two things in my opinion....either he has high blood pressure or it's from drug use like snorting cocaine or meth.
