My friend has split with her ex and have not been together for 1 year now, she has met somebody else now. her and her ex have a house together and has been up for sale for few months now. She has recently asked me would i like to keep the house on with her and split all the bills ect. He has also told me that if i give him one grand i can take over his half of the mortgage so i would own half the house and my friend would own the other half. they got the mortgage january 2007. What should i watch out for when signing for the house? will i need to make sure his names off the deeds ect?

It all sounds a bit dodgy to me... seek legal advice before you sign anything.

My advice would be to go and talk to either the CAB or a solicitor to make sure everything gets done correctly. It would be awful to sign everything only to find that you've just been paying the mortgage for him!
