My friend have a note on her I94 "NO AOS,COS, EOS" can she still get her greencard through marriage?

  1. No AOS means no adjustment of status. In other words she has to go back to her country of origin and apply from there.


  2. AOS: Adjustment of Status.

    COS: Change of Status.

    EOS: Extension of Stay.

    Now that you know the meanings of those notations you should be able to figure out what your friend can do.

    The answer to your question is no. She must return home at the end of her authorized period of stay and continue the immigration process from there; starting with her husband filing Form I-130.

    Her being out of status; just the makes the situation worse. She is illegal in the U.S. and depending on how long she as been out-of-status, she could be facing a 3 or ten year ban from entering the U.S.
