  1. yea it really depends on how he can handle it,  buy him the KX250 and just practice the **** out of it lol : )...

  2. There's not a great deal of difference between a 125 and 250. The 125 engines are real good right now. The big difference is the suspensions. He will be able to dial in the 250 much better. He will find that the extra power will become very manageable after riding for a week. The suspension differences will take longer to trust. Once he gets it, he should be able to create some serious air.

This is, of course, predicated by the idea that your friend is dominant on a one-two-five.

  3. The suspension is the same setup but the spring rates are different because the 250 is by average 12-14 pounds heavier. When I changed from 125 to a 250 I could really feel the weight difference. And going from the 125 class to the 250 class was a big step as well. I could stay up front a lot of the time in the 125 class but my best is 4th in the 250 class. So he would be stepping up to, in most cases, a more experienced class. If he is dominating the 125 class, then yes step up to it, if not then he should maybe consider a 250 four stroker!

  4. Make him stay on the 125 till he can ride that bike like it was a part of him.

  5. Sure! Why not? If he's really good, handles the bike well and is a safe rider (meaning he takes precautions and wears protective gear),he can ride a 250. He should take it slow at first, however, because he'll have a little more power under his butt, and if he wants to stay out of the dirt he should take it easy till he gets a handle on it.

  6. it all depends on how well the person riding the 125 handles the bike. if he is riding fast on the 125 and looking comfortable, then there should be no reason he could not handle a 250. the bikes are the same size, except for the power of the motor.

  7. Your going to buy your friend a Bike??

  8. If he is very good he should be able to handle a 250cc and depending upon the track he rides at sometimes they can be easier.  If it is a sand track the 250 will pull through the sand a lot easier than a 125cc.  Perhaps you should ask your friend if he wants a 250cc or is happy on the 125cc as at 15 I am sure he knows what he wants.

  9. No, 250 is too heavy, he is going to break his leg.

  10. d**n, I want some friends like you. You guys actually buy dirtbikes for each other?? He needs to be on a 250F not a 250 2 stroke. No competitve riders race 125's or 250 2 strokes anymore.
