look it may be annoying and thats the way he is...most of it is normal :) sorry...the last one is kind of weird...i watch anime, read manga, im obsessed with japan, im very weird...99.9% of people who watch anime are obsessed with it...if you are trying to say this is a problem than tell him to not act like that around you...be nice some people get defensive...some of my friends dont like it so i just dont talk about it around them...

yes to the addiction to anime is normal, getting a katana to train with is fine and dandy as long as he doesn't use it on anyone, it's normal that people of other countries are interested in different cultures...know that not all anime is like that...try ouran high school host club or fruits basket or BECK and see what i mean....but about the sister making out and having s*x with her brother part......your friend is a total freaky perve

Meh, it's relatively normal. Just think, there are worse friends to have then a fanboy. A lot of anime fans go through a period were they take it too far. Either he will grow out of it or he wont. Most do eventually mellow out. Hey and if he doesn't at least he has an interesting appreciation of another nations sub-culture.

Just think of it like this. Some people are big fans of music or sports. He is just a fan of drawn characters. He may also have a bit of a fetish for certain taboo topics but it is not really that uncommon in hentai.

As for what you can do. Have a talk with him. Explain why it is rude to practice made up martial arts moves on anyone let alone your freinds. Remind him that ninjas were mostly wiped out. Also tell him that you don't care for anime and you especially don't want to watch any pornographic movies or images with him. (if he didn't show you them then just stay off his computer) Try to just talk and do other things with him. If he is your friend he will respect your opinion.

He may be using anime as a method of escape. Is he having trouble with his life right now. Maybe you could get him out more and meet people, women in particular. Or have him sign up for an actual martial arts class so he can gain focus and discipline. Of course after giving him a crash course on why many people may be turned off from him by his anime obsession.

Oh, and a couple more things. Persuade him not to buy a sword. Absolutely no good can come out of owning one. It's not like he can even use it. It's just a waste of money.

Remember he is your friend and we all have periods in our lives were we are not very self aware of our actions. I am an anime fan but I don't really tell people unless I know they are, too. I tried to keep these suggestions as unbiased as possible. I hope this helps.

Well first, your sixth sentence in your question details has NOTHING to do with anime. Seriously: Videos that are not about anime have nothing to do with anime. (that makes sense)

Second of all, it's NORMAL to be addicted to anime, although it's not commonly seen for a person to have lots of books about ninja or practicing ninja moves.

Third of all, bunch of us here WATCH ANIME, EVEN IF WE'RE NOT ASIAN.

Fourth of all, you shouldn't be that angry; it's not 100% anime's fault for these causes.

Depending on how old he is, I'd say most except the anime incest is normal.

For a young teenager, mind. If he's older than 15, he should be realizing that his hobby *generally* doesn't lead to a career.

But it's very easy to become addicted to things, especially anime where you can find a very active online community. A lot of fans have been through that stage (including myself), and there's really not much you can do except wait it out. (The videos, though, are disgusting, and definitely not normal.)
