What sort of things should she buy in the US to put in her container? i.e. what things are proportionatly more expensive in the UK? Eg cosmetics? Clothes? Anything else?

How much approximately is the % saving if she gets it in the US?

  1. Buy everything!! The dollar is so low compared to the British Pound, she'll save a bundle of money in just about everything she buys in the US. Take into account that she'll have to pay by the weight to ship things to the UK, so food for example might not be a good idea, because of the shipping costs. But everything she buys in the US will be cheaper, trust me on that, I've been to Manhattan in June and everything was dirt cheap( I'm from Portugal- Europe) and I go to London once a year ( it's 2 hours away) and everything is expensive, I used to pay 8 pounds for a BigMac menu, that's $16, one dollar is currently 0,53 Pounds, almost 50 cents or as they say in England 50p.

  2. Lol all i no from taking 2 languages (french german) is that they buy lots of clothes here because its cheaper here.

  3. Rather than try to take the US with her---it's not a 3rd world country--it's just that the brands are different--so it's hard to know right away what is favorable -or not. she should think about what products, or brands she would really miss. LIke deodorant, shampoo, , toothpaste, kraft mac & cheese, salad dressing, tuna fish... until she has a chance for trial and error to adjust to new things.  There are places where you can get American brand products--but a lot of time they are more expensive--remember--it's imported...There are places to buy clothing at relatively inexpensive prices--but if she's into name brands---buy it in the US.

The money exchange really hurts from dollars to pounds.
