Ok so after my friends period being delayed 2 weeks, on the exact 2 week day, her "period" came. She said she had some light pink spotting on and off all day Tuesday, then it came on like a regular flow Yesterday. So on Tuesday I told her to take an hpt since her period was already late and she was spotting. So her hpt was +. Is it normal to spot then bleed like your period in early pregnancy? Shes like really freaking out and I want her to calm down. Shes trying to wait for the bleeding to stop and then shes going to take another hpt but I told her she should just go to the doctor. Idk if shes even pregnant or not because of the period bleeding she has. The only reason I think she could be is because she spotted the day before after her period being 2wks late. Idk. Any advice? Is she really pregnant? Is it possible to be pregnant early and bleed like that?

  1. I'm sorry to say this but it doesn't sound good. If you've had a positive test, heavy bleeding following that sounds like a miscarriage. I hope to god I am wrong, as I know myself how much of a worry it is in the early stages. Some women bleed on a regular basis throughout their pregnancies, and most have some kind of implantation bleeding which I would describe as light pink spotting. Get her to a doctor ASAP, or a hospital. Miscarriage usually has a lot of clots and cramps, but anyone who has experienced this may tell you a different story as obivously its different for each woman. It's not a nice thing for anyone to go through, and she's lucky to have you there holding her hand. Good luck to you both, and I hope everything turns out the way you hope. But best advice I can give, get to doctor or hospital xxxx

  2. If she got a + hpt and is now bleeding heavy, she needs to get to a doctor. OR better yet, just get her to the ER. Many women do bleed in pregnancy, but ANY bleeding should really be looked into since it is a sign of miscarriage.

  3. She needs to go to the doctor asap, it could be a miscarriage.

  4. It sounds like she was pregnant and then she had a miscarriage.

A pregnancy test will be positive for a couple of weeks after a miscarriage happens until the HCG hormones decrease back to zero. So she needs to go to the doctor ASAP.

  5. Make sure she sees a Dr. if she is having an ectopic it can be very dangerous and it should be ruled out.

  6. She needs to get herself to a doctor.  Now is not the time to guess or live in denial.  While some bleeding maybe normal in pregnancy, heavy bleeding is not.  Get her to a doctor or hospital today.

  7. i knew a girl who had a regular cycle until the baby came. so it is possible. but it could also be a misscarriage... I'd contact the doctor and have some tests done just to be sure.

    good luck

  8. first take her straight to the hospital. it is possible for her to be pregnant she may be having a miscarriage. i spotted and bleed a little like a normal period the first month of my pregnancy. i didn't know i was pregnant till i missed mine 2 months later. just get her to the hospital. better to be safe than sorry when you think it may concern an unborn child

  9. A false positive is very rare.  So she is/was pregnant. The bleeding is not normal. Maybe a little spotting but not full blown period. You need to get her to a doctor. She could even go to the emergency room. They can do a sonogram and see if the baby is still there. There is a chance she has had a miscarriage. She really needs to do this. I would make her go in today. If she miscarried they need to make sure the tissue was expelled. It can be dangerous if it is left in there. I am very sorry to hear about this and I wish you guys a lot of luck. Please convince her to go to the hospital.

  10. It is not uncommon for her to have a period during pregnancy. I did have my period for about 4 months for my second child. However, heavy bleeding which mine was not should be checked out at the ER. This could definitely be a sign of miscarriage. They will do a blood test at the hospital which will measure the hCG (pregnancy hormone) which increases as you move further along in pregnancy. If the hormone level is not at a standard level for her time frame than they will inform her. They will be able to let her know exactly what is going on. Good luck and I will pray for her.

  11. She needs to get to the doctor now and not wait.

She could be having a miscarriage or she might not have been pregnant. But she needs to get to the doctor to find out.

  12. Get her to the ER. It should really be checked on. And a medical professional is the only person who can give you a real answer. Better safe then sorry. Good luck!!!

  13. She needs to see a physician ASAP. If she is indeed pregnant and bleeding that heavily, she could be experiencing a miscarriage.

  14. If she is pregnant there could be a chance she is lossing the baby. When i got pregnant the frist time this happened to me and i lost the baby at 8weeks. Im 36wks now and at first i had some spotting but not heavy bleeding so she needs to go 2 the docs right away or to the ER. If the test came back + then she must be. Dont let her wait around.

  15. Warning: I'm going to say something that isn't Politically Correct.

If your friend is just sitting at home wondering what to do if she's pregnant and bleeding instead of going to a doctor, then she is a complete moron and shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place.

I would anonymously call 911 for her on her behalf. She could be having the first signs of a miscarriage, but modern medicine has become so advanced that some pregnancies can be saved if the miscarriage signs are caught early on.

Even if she isn't pregnant, she still needs to go see a doctor. There's no excuse for that. If she doesn't have any medical insurance, then our TAXPAYING DOLLARS will pay for her to be seen at ANY emergency room.

I'll say a prayer for you and your friend.

    I hope she wises up!
