My friend is having problems with his tongue ring....

about 3 days ago. and his tongue is swollen. on the under part of his piercing is ozzing this white stuff

his gum hurts

his teeth hurt also

he rinses with scope mouth wash every hour. is this not enough

does he have an infection

if so can you identify it by the information i gave you

he needs to be using listerine-scope doesnt kill germs.  it may be infected, give it one more day and if the oozing persists, check back with the shop that did it.  also, try not to eat things like peas and corn (small stuff) that you can confuse with the ball on the ring.  you will bite the ring and cause tiny tears in your tongue.

Its proabbly infected. Just twell him to goto the doctor and get some anti-biotics. He could have eaten/drank dairy products, that can s***w up and piercing in your mouth.

Sounds like an infection. The piercing should not be ozzing white stuff. Has he been rinsing with sea salt? Go to the Dr.

It sounds like he's rinsing with mouthwash much too often. Try using salt water instead after every meal and see if it clears up.

The problem is he is rinsing with mouth wash way too often. It should be Lysterine, not scope, and three times a day. No more!!! Too much kills the "healing bacteria". Scope does not disinfect. It does sound like it is an infection and should be looked at. He is probably in need of antibiotics asap! He should go to the ER.

well i have my done and they said only use mouth wash with salt water in it and if u do use regular mouth wash to delute it

i have my tongue peirced..and its possible that he has something stuck in the hole of his tongue causing all of this..though from the sounds of it, its more than that..i suggest that he see a dentist at once to make sure he doesnt have something wrong with his mouth like gum disease or something...and he should see a doctor..cuz if its an infection he'll need antibiotics asap to get rid of it.

I dont know normal reactions with tongue rings but i think he does have a infection. He should really check with a doctor.

He needs to get the doctor right away.. you have no idea how much bacteria is in your mouth.  It could be anything.  Those piercings are so dangerous.   Scope won't kill the germs if its a bacterial infection, He needs meds.
