My friend is homeless!were could she go?

my friend 19 and has just left her family home becuz her father was hurting her and when police came to the house the parents told them she was on drugs and making up stories!she has brusies around her neck and she went to the doctor but they didn't do anything as well.She is at a friends house at mo and i cant take er in cuz my mum hates her. is there anywhere for her to go!and be safe and happy!she NEEDS advise. thanks

there are loads of places she could stay Look on the internet you might see some homes she can stay in for free, or if she is up to it get a job and rent a flat

I wouldn't tell her to go back home if her parents lie about hurting her

A couple of links below. But she might need to apply for welfare, food stamps, and shelter right away. If she can instead think of a relative she can stay with that would be best. Or a host family from the church. I am a little surprised that if in fact she had bruises on her that it wasn't reported to the police and no report was taken. By law, a doctor has to report it.

Since she is so young, she should first seek out a faithbase organization for assistance. If there is no help there, she should seek help at a woman shelter for abuse woman, abuse do not just mean the husband or boyfriend, as we all know, parents can be abusive. However, without any facts to support her story, most would not believe her, and may not accept her. So she should only state that she is homeless, which is proven by the facts of the parents report to the police. The salvation army will give her a place to stay and a job, or the red cross. Maybe she should consider the peace corp. It also depends on the state. some states have laws to help the homeless. she should go to the libary and look in the index of title 42 USCS and look up homeless, to see laws and help Congress have provided, this is the welfare section of the United States Code as is mentioned in the preamble of the U.S. Constitution, to provide for the general welfare.

I think She's at the right age to live seperatly with her parents,, First thing to do is get a job if she doesn't have.. Then live alone.

if she goes to her local housing office and tells them what has happened they will put her in a hostel or bnb while they find her a place of her own thats what happens if your in the uk! and she could always try the citizens advice bureau she may need a letter off the friend to take to the housing (they have a homeless section)  to say she is currently staying but that she is sleeping on the floor and has no room good luck to your friend and well done to you for being a true friend and concerned good luck x*x

she can join a womens shelter in her area. itll give her help and food. also it may help her with the drugs. just do a google shearch for women shelters in the uk. i hope i helped.
