  1. primary difference between a truly open adoption and a semi-open adoption is that the adopted child has the potential of developing a one-on-one relationship with his or her birthfamily. It is not about the adoptive parents bestowing birthparents with the privilege of contact, nor is it about birthparents merely being available to provide information over the years. Direct contact, in the form of letters, phone calls and visits between the birthfamily and the adopted child, along with his adoptive family, is essential if they are to establish their own relationship. After all, how can we honestly call an adoption open if the child is not involved

  2. if  this is real. tell  ur friend or whoever it is that is better to have an abortion now that she is only 4 weeks then to give the baby for adoption. or if not tell her to use protection or to get on birth control .

  3. I am on the waiting list to adopt for the second time.  I love open adoption because it allows the birthmother the opportunity to stay in contact with the child and make sure everything is good.

Here is a website of the agency I have used.  They can answer a bunch of questions and even give your friend free counseling and help her make the right decisions.  www.adoptionhelp.org

Just in case she wants it, my website address is www.4babyallen.com

  4. This can't be real.

  5. no. unless she requests it herself.

if your fiiend wishes to terminate her pregnancy, that is her choice.  not yours to make.

    sorry...

  6. I got pregnant at the age of 16 and placed my son for adoption. Many people are ignorant in their wordings on how to treat adoption... you arent giving up or getting rid of a baby... You are giving them a life, an opportunity to be raised in a family. I have an open adoption with my son's family and get to see him all the time. It really depends on how the adoptive parents feel about having an open adoption... Some want semi-open, ei: meeting in public places, emailing, letters.... Or fully open ei: going to each others houses, seeing your child on a regular basis...

Maybe find out what religion she is and if there is an agency she should that fits her religious preference or if she isn't religious find an agency that fits her needs/preferences.

If she is planning on aborting... well thats her own choice, but there are films available of actual abortions happening and might sway her from doing it... Good luck.

  7. What do you mean get rid of ??

How old is *your* friend or is it in fact you ?

Whoever it is needs some TRUE Guidance please go to family planning and get some counseling as to the future of your *Friend*

  8. Pardon me from saying this but why would u get rid of a baby... afterall he/she was innocent. so i would suggest ur friend to give birth to the baby and take care of it or put it up for adoption.

She should never choose abortion since abortion is the same as murdering...

  9. Quite a few agencies offer open adoption agreements. How they work (at least through the agency I'm familiar with) is that the expecting mother and the adoptive couple that she's choosen will sit down and discuss the terms of the open adoption that they are comfortable with. Things like, letters, pictures, visits (a combination or only one or two of those), the frequency of the communication etc. It's then written out in an agreement. Good luck to your friend!

  10. Get rid of eh? Sounds like both you and your friend are "real mature" ( that was sarcasm)

  11. poor choice of words. it makes me wonder the intent of the question.

you 'get rid of trash' i am not trash, my bparents didnt get rid of me. if that was the case they did a poor job of it, i came back 28 years later.

  12. SHE SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THE CONSEQUENCES BEFORE BEDDING DOWN,BUT THE MISTAKE WAS MADE AND SHE HAS TO DEAL WITH IT.THERE IS ALOT OF HELP AROUND,TRY LOOKING ONLINE FOR A FACILITY AROUND YOU THAT CAN HELP WITH ALL THE QUESTIONS SHE NEEDS TO ASK.WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?THEY CAN HELP ALSO.ADOPTION IS A GREAT WAY TO GO AS LONG AS IT GOES TO A FAMILY THAT TRULY WANTS A CHILD.IT'S SO SAD THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT WANT KIDS AND CAN'T HAVE THEM,THEN THERE ARE THE ONES THAT KEEP MAKING BABIES THAT DON'T HAVE ANY INTEREST IN THE KID WHAT SO EVER.THERE ARE OPTIONS SHE JUST HAS TO CHOOSE FOR HERSELF WHAT ROAD SHE WANTS TO GO ON.HOPEFULLY IT'S THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR THE BABY.

  13. People who want to get rid of a baby choose abortion.

With adoption you are never "rid" of the child, it is out there somewhere and if she is thinking she will just hand it off and never think of it again she is sadly mistaken. Trust me I know.

Bwahaha! Oh the blessed thumbs, truth kinda hurts don't it?

  14. "get rid of?" ???

Anyway is this is real tell her to go to Planned Parenthood and they will give her all of her options, including adoption and where to go where they won't pressure her.

  15. If she is wanting to get rid of the baby an open adoption wouldn't be the route for her.  Open is when the bio parent still is involved in the childs life.

  16. There are loads of private adoption agencies out there. She will be able to pick from parents who have paid a lot of money up front to the agency.  They are serious about the process and being a mommy & daddy.  All of her medical bills would be covered, more than likely.  If she's not comfortable living where's at while she is pregnant, some will move her to a group home type environment.  Google adoption agencies and several will come up.  Abortion alternatives would also prove several agencies that are Christian based - usually.  Thumbs up for her realizing it's a baby not a piece of lifeless tissue.

Open adoption has a  variable meaning and it is set at the time of adoption.  My friend's open adoption simply means she receives pictures and school updates twice a year.  When her daughter is 18, the daughter will receive all of the contact information for her mom.  Considering her mom now works for the same adoption agency as a social worker...it probably won't be that hard to find her.  :)
