She's nearly 16 and smokes "socially" ..I'm not sure how addicted she is or whether she isn't yet, but she smoked twice yesterday despite most of the people there being quite anti-smoking (so it's not like she was pressured into it. Only one of her friends smokes and we give her a hard time for it, besides I think my friend asks for cigarettes rather than takes when offered). I haven't spoken to her properly yet since then, and I want to know what I should say when I do see her. I know she expects me to be mad, so I have to say something, otherwise she'll feel like she "got away with it".
I think she does it because it makes her feel big & it's exciting rather than because she wants to impress anyone else. She does have insecurities and can be an attention seeker too.
So what should I say when I next see her that might really hit home? Personal experiences would help. I know lecturing her about disease just isn't going to work with her, because she already knows but just seems to think it's worth it..
