I have been best friends with her since we were 8, we are REALLY close, and everyone knows it. But I have only ever once seen her cry, and that was when we had just seen her cat choke and die. In our big group of close friends (about 10) we are all very huggy-kissy on the cheek and always tell eachotha tht we love them cause we're all so close, but she doesn't often hug anyone, NEVER kisses, and very rarely says "I love you." What is the phsychology behind this?

  1. Some people are just like that. Her upbringing is different than yours. This applies to everyone. She's been raised a certain way and probably thinks the same about you as you do about her. Instead of worrying so much about it, just be glad that you have such a good friend.

  2. Maybe her upbringing.. My husband is the same.. and don't say because he is a guy.. there are emotional guys and romantic guys as well out there.. he came from a family where it was not done to show emotion.. or think of Queen Elizabeth.. she holds her emotions under control. I believe she would cry if one of her horses dies or one of her corgies.. but she is not the person who would cry and sob.. She has to set an example.. Every person is just different.. Everybody loved Princess Diana because she showed in her face that she cared about the other people.. but not everyone can cry and really the words ''I love you'' aren't everything.. it is important to show one cares in deeds more than words.. words can be just words and maybe she was never hugged a lot by her mom.. that would account for her being more distant.. she never knew that feeling so it is unusual to her.. Just accept her as she is.. If she is a good friend and shows it in other ways.. by listening and by trying to offer advice if advice is asked of her then she is a valuable friend even if she seems not emotional.. I cry a lot and that is something I inherited from my mom.. we are very emotional and other people have their emotions under control or they meditate to release their tension so they don't have to be so emotional .. accept her as she is... everybody is unique.. we all are different but we all have our weaknesses and strenghts and so has she i am sure. x
