  1. Kawi makes ninjas as as small as 250. They are street legal and they are small, and light. If it does end up being to tall for you (im 6.1 so I wouldnt know). You can get them eather adjusted or lowered. If you want smaller then that you can find cruziers that are about 128cc but they are slow.

  2. Sportbikes tend to be wider in the middle (especially fours), so they're not always the most friendly to shorter riders.

As a 5' 2 new rider you should be looking closely at a standard or a cruiser - less plastic to break when you drop it, and they're narrower and lower through the middle than a sportbike.

  3. Take the MSF class. You will gain valuable riding experience in a controlled environment. many people want a bike after a friend gets one but when they get it, soon realize it's not really their cup of tea. Riding in the class will help you determine if it's really for you

Ninja 250 is fine for you. Not because you're short, because you're a new rider. I know a set of twins who are 5'2". One has a ZX9 and the other a CBR954. No issues.

Once you learn to ride well, you can ride any bike you want. It's about skill. It's best to be able to flat foot both feet at a red light but it's not a requirement. I can flat foot both feet and rarely do it. At lights I keep my right foot on the peg and lean the bike on my left inner thigh with my left foot planted. No pressure at all.

  4. how are we suposed to know if theres a smaller one if you don't tell us which model hers is?

  5. Yes, Kawasaki makes 6 different ninjas in 2008 the 250, 500,zx6r,650r, zx10 and zx14. A good size for a new rider would be either the 250 or the 500. Both are really cheap and are great starter bikes. Go to the dealership and sit on them to see which one is more comfortable.

  6. Kawasaki may or may not still make the Ninja 250. If not manufactured currently check out the early 90's model. Not too tall. Ok, at highway speed. Perfect for the modern woman

  7. Kawasaki makes a 250 & 500 ninja.

Go to some shops and sit on them.

Lowering kits are made to lower the seat heights up to 3"

  8. Its going to be difficult for you on a sport bike. Seat height on these is around 31 inches. Have GF measure your inseam and you'll see where your at. Sit on on and you feet should be nearly flat on the ground with cycle off center stand. All sport bikes sit high, it is the nature of the beast, maybe you ought to look at a cruiser.

  9. Ninja 250r is $3499, seat height is 30.5in.
