I have car insurance, myself, on my car, but found out her car was uninsured for the time period that she was out of town. What do I do? What am I liable for? Is there any way to get help without costing me an arm and a leg? Thanks!

  1. Your problem. Hopefully, your insurance covers you in any vehicle you drive.

  2. My suggestion is trying to get as much as information as you could before making any decision, here is a good resourece.http://carinsurance.expertsupport.info/a...

  3. Call your insurance company ASAP and see if they will cover it since she was uninsured.  If they won't cover it, the other person will be coming after you (if it was your fault) and the owner of the vehicle for the cost of repairs and medical bills, if they were hurt.

  4. Your liability coverage should kick in as excess primary.  Contact your insurer and report the loss.  They will let you know if your coverage will apply. Your collision coverage MAY transfer as well.
