My friend needs encourageing what do i say ??

my friend is upset and the thing is is that she is older than me and i want to encourage her but what do i say??

tell her you will be there for her

it depends on what the issue is. just be there for her. let her cry. let her yell. just let her know that you are able and willing to help her with her problems. tell her the truth, you dont know what to say. then let her know that you wish you could do something for her. tell her you are there for her, be a friend. sometimes just being there is better then saying anything at all.
