  1. This should help:

    http://www.life-after-harry-potter.com

Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content.  There is also a "Reader's Choice" list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books.

    I hope this helps.

  4. the best source is the dictionary.  start at the beginning and pick 5 or 10 words a week. help her learn them , how to speak the word, spell the word, know the meaning and usage of each word.

  6. Well it's not really a book but, try Flocabulary. It's this CD that has vocab words but, also puts it in a catchy song that help you understand it. Google it or type it in yahoo.

  7. the dictionary learn one a day thats 7 words a week one year 365 words anyway thats what i am doing with my kids but its one word a week they are 4 5 7

  8. It has to be things she likes to read. Even magazines that she can relate to (teen magazines... like teen poeple, etc). Encourage her to read anything and everything. It will all build her vocabulary.

There are lots of great books ou there for kids her age. I recommend anything by M.E. Kerr who writes about social issues of today. Great author!

  11. Help her to learn five new words everyday!! That way her "bank"(mind) will be filled everday and she should use atleast one to two words everyday in some context or the other.

  12. books wont help, sometimes they do, but, You know what will help if you have a tape recorder or go out and buy one, Have her sit down, and read a chapter or two in a book, and then when she is done, turn the tape over to her, and she can hear what she says on the tape, Then she can point out her own mistakes if she hears herself on tape, and if she doesnt like what she hears, then have her re read the books over and over again till her vocbulary clears up
