My friend plans to come to central europe for a vacation. Can she take her visa in the Austrian consulate?

her itinerary is this:

Day 1 and 2 - Munich, Germany

Day 2 and 3 - Salzburg, Austria

Day 3, 4 and 5 - Budapest, Hungary

Day 5, 6 and 7 - Prague, Czech Republic

Day 7 and 8 - Vienna, Austria

Day 9 - Munich, Germany

She will be staying in all 4 countries for 2 nights each...

With a Schengen visa the embassy of application should be the one where the main destination is.  In her case this is difficult as they are equally shared.  If the main destination is not known then it is the point of entry to the Schengen zone, so then in her case it would be Germany http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_vi...

The best bet is for her to call the Austrian embassy in her country ahead of the application, and double check this.
