Question:

My friend received a parking ticket, will she get another one?

Our school has a separate parking lot for juniors, but it is actually a parking lot for a public park. Decals are purchased and used to park legally at this park during the school day.

So, today, me and my friend both did not have our decals purchased yet. We both received parking tickets. I plan on buying my decal before the next school day, but she does not have the money.

Now... the ticket says that it must be payed within 10 days. If my friend parks again in this lot and displays her ticket on her dashboard, is she still at risk for getting another ticket? Even if it's just for one day?

Thanks, and please be gentle. A simple yes or no is fine.

  1. Yes!

  2. yes, she'll get another one.  another day, another offense.

  3. Displaying the ticket in your window will probably get the car towed because obviously the first citation wasn't enough to stop her from illegally parking.

I would suggest your friend leave the car at home and catch a ride with someone until the decal is purchased.

  4. Yes, and she can also get in trouble for not paying in the allotted time for the first ticket.  Actually, who owns the car?  If her parents do, they can get in trouble if it's not paid in the 10 days.

    *paid*

Edit: Her displaying the first ticket will only tell the cop she knows she's parking illegally and is going to do it anyway.  She either needs to take public transportation, walk, ride bike, or bum rides to school if she can't afford to get a decal.  Or park elsewhere.
