My friend wants to get married secretley without anyone knowing and not having to file taxes together or ?

changing her name to his last name. The reason I'm asking is because her parents will never accept him because of their culture.Can you do that?

and live a lie everyday?  cultures like that also breed extream guilt.  They will doom themselves if they do this.

yes - you can always file married filing separate, you dont have to change your last name, but i t will  be really hard if they dont live together... she os looking at a life time of tough times though.. she will prolly get divorced.. but she can keep it secret, until one of them dies and rights to ownership and medical things come up... i eloped, my parents didnt know for 3 years that i was married.. we lived together... every minute sucked because my dad hated him and wouldnt come to my house and my sisters didnt feel comfortable and yadda yadda - turns out they were all right... tell your friend to wait.. i wouldnt encourage this.. i would tell her a lie, that everyone on YA told you it cant be done, also, tell her that marriage records are public and if anyone had even a speculation they could find out if they were married or not.. thats the truth...

She can get married without changing her name. She just simply tells the court clerk she isn't taking his name when they apply for the marriage license.  They can file taxes separately, or married - filing separate (cheaper this way).

Yes this can be done,, but why would you want to,,, Starting a marriage off with deceite and lies will only increase the mistrust between the two getting married,,, Without trust and honesty  a marrage will not last....   So these people need to come out  and tell everyone the truth and deal with the consequences Together. If they love each other then there shouldn't be any shame in what they are doing,, If there is, then they shouldn't get married ,  If they are ashammed and want to hide their marriage then they are not relly in love,, they are in a romantic zone, which doesn't last long ,,  Romeo and Juliet was a story,, This type of realtionship is a dream and nothing more.... A real marriage takes a lot of hard work to make it last along with unconditional, honesty, unselfishness, loyality,and trust,(just to name a couple)   Good Luck with the dreamy romantic relationship and let me know when one of you wake up....
