Ok this happened like 4 months ago those guys jumped in on him and raped him luckily they didn't anal him they just rubbed their c***s between his thighs and cummed on them and they did a lil kissing 2 and now he is scared emotionally 4 life and what scares him most is that he thinks he might have caught HIV/AIDS, but i guess the odds are really low so i took him to for a normal blood test to check out his WBC level doctor was like is too high u might have an allergy and he actually did 2 days after the blood test he got a fever and flu, and that like scared him more but i told him that's like because u only have an allergy in your nose and I was right...

my questions are

1) What are the chances that he may catch HIV in the first place

2) Can a normal blood test primarily detect HIV

3) Does HIV/AIDS Cause Disease with no reasonable diagnose, I mean like he has high number of WBC which means that he is fighting a certain disease and he was actually was fighting an allergy but could it possibly be HIV?

P.S he is 15 years old

  1. The HIV virus typically dies when it comes in contact with air/oxygen, so if the guys didn't come in an orfice his likelyhood of transmission is very low.  kissing rarely transmits the virus.

a high WBC count typically mean he is fighting some infection, viral or bacterial.  a normal blood test does not look for HIV.  a special test that looks for antibodies the body produces in response to HIV must be done.

tell him to get tested, and that will tell him everything.  have him go to a free clinic

  2. If he was assaulted and knew the offenders and filled out a police report, then the offenders would have to be HIV tested.

If he did not report this to the officials then he himself should go get tested.  It would be very unlikely for him to become infected without some kind of penetration.

His white blood count could have been anything...like you said the flu.  He needs to consent to an HIV test to determine his health status.

  3. The ONLY way to reassure you friend is to have the proper blood tests done by a doctor's office.  Based on your description of the situation, there is NO WAY to tell for sure if he was or was not infected.

And since HIV takes a while to build up in the body, it would be a good idea to have an HIV blood test done NOW, and another one done in another 6 months.

if BOTH tests come back negative, there is a pretty good chance that nothing is wrong.

You MUST request a test specifically for HIV.  "Normal" blood tests (like for WBC) will NOT detect HIV.

There is also the possibility of other diseases, like syphillis or gonnorrhea.  Your friend should ask the doctr to do ALL the STD tests.

  4. I would encourage your friend to have a HIV test, he's old enough to do it on his own with out consent and for detecting HIV there is a 3 month window period and he is past that time.

No a normal blood test does not detect HIV, you must request a special test for HIV.

His flu could be from anything, and even being stressed can do that, so please get him to a clinic or AIDS service organization that does HIV testing. There are places where he can get a rapid test that will let him know with in 20 minutes his results. You might want to go with him to support him.

    Good Luck!

  5. There is a possibility of HIV infection in this case, but the risk is low if there was no anal penetration.

Diagnosing HIV requires a test specifically for HIV antibodies( most commonly) or for the virus itself.  A routine blood test would not include testing for HIV.  Legally, written consent is required in order to test anyone for HIV.   People need to request the HIV test in order to have it done.

HIV would not show symptoms initially.

Another note about testing:  Antibodies for HIV usually show up  on tests within 3 months of the time of infection, but in rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for the virus to show up on tests.   You mentioned that this happened 4 months ago.  Your friend should be tested now, and again in 2-3 months.  He should be tested for other STDs as well.

I think it would also be helpful for him to get counseling to help him deal with this situation.

  6. why did he not resist ? get him medical aid and counselling ,

  7. I think he needs to wait six months, and then go talk to the doctor.  It sometimes take time for tests to show up positive.  If he does get sick, you should take him to the doctor right away.
