His dad wants him to come and stay with him and has given him a couple of days to pack.

  1. he should be ok if the hospital doesn't call child services to let them know he's living by himself while his mother is in the hospital. If anybody ask just tell them somebody is staying with him.

  2. Why don't you just talk to him and say that he's using your home as home base while she's in the hospital, and that should he need anything he can come over, etc, but just make sure to check up on him. Legally, his father does have the right to make him come stay with him.

  3. He should be able to take care of himself at 17.  I don't think anyone is going to make him leave.  I hope his mom heals and everything is ok.

  4. Who has given him a couple of days to "pack up and go"?

  5. I agree at 17 he should be capable of keeping up the house with a little help.

  6. Legally he is able to speak for himself, but if his father has visitation rights then he is probably still required to visit on those court appointed days.  If he has adults to turn to while he is home.  More than likely mom would be home well before you coule get this in front of a judge.  I would search on the internet to find out what your state laws are on visitation.  Good luck!!!
