  1. 1. After the cat lives with you for so long they will get used to your life, and begin to feel more safe in YOUR environment.

    2. I've been to Canada but I live in the U.S, but you DON'T need any card to raise a cat.

    3. As long as theres food, water, and a litter box it will love you, (also you need to pick it up and love on it when it seems lonley[when it meows ALOT])

    4. Well I would let it outside BUT don't let it loose, let it get used to whats around your house

    5. Put it in the litter box, and if you do have any problems with it pooping or peeing on the carpet, buy some spray that they will hate to smell (only if they try to pee or poo on the carpet) so they wont pee or poo on the carpet.

    6. Cat food (mostly ANY but my cat likes Meow Mix)

    7. Yes, But Milk will usualy give them runny p**p (not good) Unless you put just a little bit in their food (to soften it)

    8. Not every day but once a month, yeah.

    9. Get a small water spray bottle and put water in them, and spray her when she does and you can buy her a scracthing post.

    10. yes cats LOVE toys, they like string, like yarn.

    11. e-mail me her semtoms.

    12. Well cats will play no matter what, but when she dosnt really react to anything shes just tired

    13. getting to close to their privet

    14. You, food, toys, water, and a box to pee and poo in! :]

  2. You have far too many questions to answer here.  I STRONGLY suggest buying this book.  "Think Like a Cat..How To Raise a Well-adjusted Cat, NOT a Sour Puss"

    By Pam Johnson-Bennett,  copyright 2000

This is the very best book on cats out there.  It will last you a long, long time and will be the only thing you need to reference after you get the cat.  And MILK is not good for your cat!  Please get this book.  It will answer everything.

You are in for a wonderful treat...Cats are the best things in my life!!!

  3. Yes cats do know their owner and will usually gravitate towards the person who feeds them.

I know nothing about Canada - sorry.

You should definitely keep your cat inside (so watch doors and windows) for at least 3 weeks so she gets to know her new environment.

When she does go outside, take her on a harness and let her get the scent.  Do this a few times and then let her wander out by herself but you should go with her and watch her.  Make sure she is only let out unaccompanied if your garden is very safe.

If she is a kitten you need to keep her in one room only (the same applies if she is a cat as well) for about a week and put everything in the one room that she needs (2 litter trays/food/water/toys and beds with something that you own in them (like a jumper) so she will start to recognise your smell. Show her the litter trays (put her inside and scrape her front paws in the litter).  When you know she is using the trays properly you can start to let her wander around the rest of the house and you can GRADUALLY move the trays to the place you want them to be.

Get good quality food (a mixture of wet and dry) appropriate for her age - kitten/adult or mature.

Dont give milk unless it is special cat milk - make sure water is always readily available.  It should be in a bowl large enough so their whiskers don't touch the sides as some cats don't like this.  They also love water fountains.

You can - if absolutely necessary - shower/bathe a cat but be very careful and use a very mild and diluted shampoo - best to get one from a groomer.  Make sure the cat is rinsed and dried well.  I have one cat who has to be bathed and I put a large towel in the bottom of the bath to stop his slipped and then use a shower attachment to GENTLY wash him.  You will probably get scratched so wear long sleeves.

Buy a scratching post - it must be high enough for them to reach up to their full height.  You can buy sprays to stop them scratching furniture but sometimes the smell just attracts them.

Most like toys and about 50% of cats adore cat nip.  Sprinkle it on bedding/soft toys and watch for a reaction.

Play with your cat using rod toys and NEVER hands as this encourages rough behaviour.  Your cat needs to learn that hands are for stroking and giving treats.  Never shout your cat's name in anger as this will not encourage her to come to you when you call her for another reason.  Don't stare directly at your cat as this is intimidating behavour - blink gently as this is reassuring.

Buy a book about cat health and watch for the signs.  Make sure you keep vaccinations/flea and worming treatments up to date.

Above all - give her lots of love and protection.

    Good luck.

  4. 1. Cats definitely now their owner!

2.I live in Canada, too. We don't have a license or a health card for our cat so you should be fine.

    3. Yes.

4.Take her for walks on a leash. Let her recognize the neighborhood.

5.If she is answering nature's call somewhere other than where you are teaching her, say bad cat and put her where she is supposed to go.

6.They like meat and cat food. Feed them cat food more often though, they could get sick. We use Purina cat and kitten chow.

7.They do like milk, but you should not give them anything but kitten milk because it is hard on their digestive systems and gives them diarrhea. You can buy kitten milk at the pet store.

8.Yes but the chances of getting scratched and bitten are very high unless she likes water. You will also get very wet.

    9. Spray water on her whenever she does it and say bad cat.

    10. Most of them do, but sometimes they are lazy. Kittens are the most likely to play with them.

    11. They will act different and they may sneeze alot, and have trouble breathing.

    12. It is just who they are and their personalities.

    13. If you hit or abuse them they could become violent. Some cats are just like that though.

    14. They like toys, you petting them, being free, that kind of thing.
