  1. once the device is wiped as it says it is gone sry but thats why alot of people dont put on a password. it is a feature to protect our customers and that is why you make sure not to forget your password. if you do there is no way to get it back.

  2. You have to type the password incorrectly 10 times for the wipe to occue, and on the 4th try, the 7th try and the 10th try it makes you type the word "blackberry" in, before it lets you try anymore.  Just to make sure its not rattling around in your purse pushing buttons on its own.

If you have connected this blackberry to a PC before, usually it tries to make a "backup" file where it saves all your info on to the pc, in case you loose your BB someday or in case everything gets erased.

If you do have a pc backup, all you have to do is hook er back up and click on restore, select the last backup and the desktop software will do the rest - including restoring the password!!!

So if you do a restore, and you still don't remember the password...  call your wireless company!!!- They can send a remote unlock to your BB as long as it is connected up to the cell tower with signal.  Then you can change the password etc immediately.

if you've never connected it to a PC, you can restore your phonebook from the sim card, but that's about it.

  3. Probably a safety feature that erases all data since if the password is entered incorrectly too many times, the phone thinks it is an identity thief. Your friend, they should have written down the password and have put it in a safe place. Irresponsibity is probably to blame.
