Question:

My friends all made other plans on my birthday...?

I wouldn't mind so much if they'd forgotten- but the fact is that the three people I thought were my "closest" friends all made plans without me, and then asked if I was doing anything after they were already busy!

I'm 17... I'm just upset that they actually remembered it was my birthday then consciously decided they didn't care... It wasn't like I said I wasn't doing anything then they made other plans without me... it was that they checked "oh you're not doing anything for your birthday are you?" then I found out they'd already made seperate plans...

Am I right to be upset?

They said they would drop round a present... but I don't care about a present... more that the don't care enough to not make plans... their plans are together! And nothing they can't do a different day either!

  1. maybe you're friends are just a bunch of a-s-s-h-o-l-e-s

    that's what i think

  2. They might be throwing you a surprise birthday party for you.

  3. Maybe they are having a party for you and they don't want you to know.

  4. I understand exactly how you feel, My 18th birthday was a disaster! It feels like everyone's forgotten you're alive. That it's your day, and that you WANT to be WITH THEM!! Maybe you should give your closest friend a call and let her know how it's making you feel. Maybe all they need is a little perspective.

Happy Birthday! ...hang in there girl.

  5. maybe you could get all your friends together and tell them how you feel or ask them if you can do whatever they are doing with them.

  6. You have every right to be upset!

It's not like you're 8, and you spend your birthday with your family.

Of course you want to celebrate it with your friends!

You should talk to them, and see if you could join any of their

    plans.

If they have plans at night, you could suggest going out for breakfast or lunch together.

If you have other friends, call them.

No matter what you do, make sure that YOU are happy about what you're doing. It's YOUR birthday, and you shouldn't be doing something you hate.

Even if you just end up watching a movie on your couch, enjoy it. Give  yourself a facial, a mani/pedi and eat lots of junk.

Go out and get yourself an ice cream, or an expensive cup of coffee,

Make sure that you have a good time.

If your friends can't be nice enough to include you in their plans, make plans with other people. When was the last time you went to a movie with your mom?

    Or took a bubble bath?

Go for a walk, clear your head, and decide what to do.

Don't stay mad at your friends forever, though.

Call up someone else, or go do something in a social setting. Who knows? Maybe you'll meet someone!

    Hope this helps

    Happy Birthday!

  7. Have you thought that maybe they are planning a surprise birthday party for you?

  8. Friends should make it to your birthday. It only comes once and there isn't a good excuse for missing it unless you are sick. Then I would understand but making other plans come on. The day is set one day a year and friends or real friends would make the effort to make it. I hate when they do that to me.
