  1. A lot of people and really hot wheather. The other thing is ask first if it's ok to speak spanosh may help , but we brasilians get really mad and forigners act like that is our language.

I dont know how is your Carnval so i can't help in this one.

  2. I think you will like, be weary, its a big city, be careful where you choose to stay, prefer Leblon or Ipanema (Leblon is better), do NOT stay in Copacabana.

Its diferent from anywhere in the world, our Carnival, but the people you may find similar. The parade itself is breath taking, huge, there is nothing similar.

Where are you at? St. Kits? Dominica? around there?

Amazing places, I worked the Caribean on ships for years.

    Love it.

Spanish will help you a LOT.

If you have time take a few days and go to Buzios.

ITs 2,5 hours north of Rio and really nice.

In Rio try "Rio Flat Service" in Leblon, nice, clean, great view, location and fair price.

  3. Ummm... I don't know about carnival in the "West Indias", but they say Brazilian carnival is unique. You can expect a lot of loud music, people, chaos, drunk people and kisses. The Spanish might help, only if you speak it veery slowly. If the person you're talking to knows a bit of English, it's better to try English.
