My friends are not people who i want to be friends with..what should i do??

My "friends" are nice and everything..never done anything to hurt me. but theyre like really into school work and projects but im not like that i could go be friends with other girls people who are popular and dont silence conversations people who get what im talking about but my mum sais these girls arent gunna get anywhere in life and my other friends are gunna be the ones who are academic and rich in life and my mum wants me to be like that which i kind of am but........i dunno

Mom has a good point..and of course she would prefer you to hang out with kids who are into academics.  It wouldnt hurt to be friends with other people as well so you can go oout and have fun sometimes but I dont see why you soudl have to choose.

Well, I know every mother wants their kids to prosper in life, but its ultimately u who decide what u want to be. And yes, its really important to choose the right friends, cause they really influence u. I wouldnt say  u need to hang out with educated and rich friends, u should stick to people who are nice at heart, even if they are poor and illiterate. Always listen to your heart and choose your friends accordingly. If u dont like this old group, be frank with them, and tell them that u need a little more space and time, and u wanna give some new friends a try, and do apologise, and then start hanging with this new group, and if u dont like them, I hope your old friends take u back!

well try to hang out with the popular girls and if u dont like them then go back to ur old friends and the kind of friends u have do not decide your future

i had the same problem all my friends had all A's on their report card every time they got them and whenever i called them they were to busy with extra credit on their project so then i met this girl named nikki she is like me she studies and does reports but is not as in to it as alot of other girls so i didnt ditch my old friends i still invite them over on weekends and stuff but i would say my best freind is nikki! hope this helped!

Hang out with your friends but it never hurts to have more so go and make more friends just don't loose sight of who your true friends are in the long run.

I have no idea what is wrong with hanging out with friends who are smart and responsible.  Those are good people, and if they want to hang around with you, that means they think that YOU are smart and responsible, too.

That's a good thing.  Be proud of that, and appreciate it.  Not everyone is lucky enough to have friends like that.
