Question:

My friends baby goat needs help!?

Okay.. so this morning when they were checking up on their baby goats one of them was laying on the ground wet and now he cant walk! she wants to know whats wrong so she can help him. he is 4-6 months old. can you help?

  1. Sounds like the baby goat has pneumonia.  Goats are HIGHLY susceptible to pneumonia.  4-6 months of age is a prime time for them to become ill also.  They are now weened from their mothers, but do not yet have adult immune systems.

    She can take the goat to a Vet, and receive antibiotics for treatment.  Frankly the success rate is not so good.  Not trying to be mean, but if the baby cannot walk, he's probably going to die.

    Take him inside, keep him warm and dry.  Keep food and water at his nose.  Turn him frequently from one side to the other, so too much fluid does not build up in one lung and drown him.

  2. Is it wet of water?  Maybe he got into some chemicals.  Its possible if its just water that he is so soaked that he isnt strong enough to walk with the extra weight the water caused his fur to weigh.     ™
